St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Siloam

This historic African-American church has been abandoned, though a sign over the entrance (The Church That Would Not Die) indicates efforts were made to preserve it at some point.

I drove by this church today. We didn’t slow down, but the glancing view I had of it sparked recognition that I had seen it. I knew it had to be here. It still stands, but 3 years past your photo–there are more signs of decay and more foliage shielding it from the road. This is a prosperous county. It would be a wonderful project to be able to bring this church back from the brink.
