Folk Victorian Cottages, Scotland

The gable hip-roofed cottages pictured here are located across 2nd Avenue from each other.

Eleanor Clegg Smith writes: “These houses were owned by Mr. John Henry Clements. He lived in the one with the screened porch on two sides. The one across the street (with the large cedar trees) was his and he rented it out. His daughter Estelle and husband Cecil Cook, lived in the “eccentric” house for awhile in the 1940’s until they bought a larger home.

Please notify me if you have any knowledge of Caswell Benjamin Sanford, a former resident of Scotland, Georgia. I believe he might have been the town marshal for awhile. There was another Sanford that was a former town marshal in Scotland, GA. I have a good photograph of him with his badge penned on his coat. His name was pronounced “Row-ann” but probably was spelled Rowan Sanford. Any information on them or where their graves might be located will be much appreciated.
