St. John A. M. E. Church, Norwood

This is one of Warren County’s most historic African-American congregations, dating to 1876.

My grandmother, Geneva Massengale, was born in 1880 in Norwood, Georgia. She was mixed race. Mother black. Father white. Would love to find out more about her. She married Joshua Hall and had 15 children. They left Georgia in the 20s. Wondering if this church is still there. Any records? Would she have been a descendant of Massengales of Norwood?
