Though this great little house has a slightly Victorian appearance, I believe its origins are earlier, perhaps as a vernacular Greek Revival.

I recognize this type of house, the design of which somewhat replicates a post-Civil War architecture based on the classic Greek Revival. It’s been simplified and rather plain except for the detail at the top of the porch posts, reminiscent of columns.
Definitely convincing that it’s vernacular Greek Revival.
I have seen many old houses following this basic architectural design based on Greek Revival but much simplified, with nothing grand except for the forked detail at the top of the porch posts.
