Royston has a good number of historic commercial “blocks” still standing. This was an auto parts store at one time but I’m unsure of its original use. I will update when I learn more.
Royston Commercial Historic District, National Register of Historic Places

I was born in Royston in 1953. As a child, I remember this being Blumenthal’s Clothing Store. We shopped there for new school clothes! My mother was born in 1919 in Royston and lived her entire life there. Her father owned Ridgway’s Grocery Store just around the corner on hwy. 17. She grew up knowing the Blumenthal’s twin sons. They left for Atlanta after their childhood there. One of them became a Interior Decorator. (She always told the story of how Mrs. Blumenthal would visit her family each summer in New York. When she was away, the father and sons would come into the grocery store and buy bacon to cook as they loved it. They had a special frying pan for it and hid it from the mother most of the year!)
