My Mother Frances Karp grew up in Newington GA from 1921 to 1938.
She always spoke warmly of her Newington GA childhood and some of her friends she grew up with. I went with her to Newington twice where she pointed out the Church where she joined in the fun among friends at ” the BYO ” Baptist Youth Organization on occasion.
My Grandparents owned the dry goods store: Karp’s.
Do you have Any photos of the school house, of some of the original residential homes or buildings?
Mother described her childhood in Newington as ” my idyllic childhood.”
Thanks for your exceptional and much needed photos and info.
