Expanded from eight to nineteen rooms over its long history, this charming house was built by James A. Ralston circa 1831. Ralston was the owner of Ralston Hall, one of Macon’s most popular 19th century entertainment venues. The house was sold to A. O. Schofield, founder of Schofield Iron Works, in 1890. It has been subdivided into apartments but maintains its historic exterior appearance today.

I cannot understand with such brilliant African American history in Macon and Bibb County How can we add more images to this site?
Let me know some locations and I will gladly document them. I photograph what I can, when I’m able. I would love to have more African-American sites on Vanishing Georgia and have already documented quite a few.
