
One of the most historic buildings in Rhine, this eclectic Neoclassical with Victorian details originally stood a few hundred feet away at the corner of Central Street and 2nd Street.

Hart Mizell writes that this structure: “…was built in 1890 and was originally the “Mizell Hotel.” …The owner/proprietor Griffin Mizell was my great-great-great grandfather. He was a Civil War veteran and [early] mayor of Rhine, [elected in 1894]. He served as the mayor for two decades...”

I grew up playing in this house, my Aunt and Uncle were the last owners. I can get more information on it if you are interested.
