I live in Chester and this was not a service station. The service station is across the road between the fire station and the Progressive Rural Co-Op telephoe switching office. My cousing now owns that station and does automotive work, tire sales and installation and even works on small tractores there. It is Rogers Automotive. The building the picture was onece a pool hall ran by Munk Jackson, a little store and I think they sold fishing bait out of it when I was real little and I am now 64 years old. There was another stating on the corner of 257 and Rail Road St. ran by Kirk Jolly that has been colsed since the late 70’s.
Boy, I just realized that I mispelled several words and cannot edit my response. I think I must have turned off auto-correct also, not that I have it on my computer. We sure need an edit function on this page or I need to edit before I ead and not type beyond my ability. The little station the corner of 257 was owned by Kirkam Jolley alson not Kirk. There is a really funny story about him and something that happened there once but I cannot share it here.
