My name is Neal Harris. My great-great grandfather was Henry R. Harris of Meriwether County. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing some of your pictures of churches and other older buildings from the middle and late nineteenth century.
HR Harris lived at a plantation called “Xerxes” near Harris City, outside Greenville between 1858 and 1910. I’m wondering if you might have any photos of that plantation or of any of its people? I believe the main house was moved and finally called “The Terraces”.
Per this photo of yours, my grandfather, B. Neal Harris,Sr. was Vice President of the Coca-Cola Company in the 1940s.
