Killen-King House, 1852, Perry

Built for Judge Samuel D. Killen, this Greek Revival home was later owned by the Francis Marion King family and the Penn-Dixie Cement Company, who used it as a clubhouse. It was purchased by Gardner Watson in 1955 and has been used as a funeral home since then.

Am wondering if this was my Great Grandfather’s house? Killen was his last name for sure, unsure of his first name at this moment. Had 3 sons die during the Civil war, most moved to Texas following the war.

I am Samuel Killen’s 4th great-granddaughter. My uncle has some pictures as well as some of Samual Killen and his wife’s belongings. I am named indirectly after his daughter, Fanny Emily, and I have her Bible that was a gift from him. I’d be glad to share any info I have with you.
