I am trying to locate my wife’s great grandfather, Alex Preston Bowman (1858-1928). I have reason to believe that He spent his last years in the Butts community and may be buried either here at Johnson Chapel, or somewhere out in the woods nearby. Can anyone help us locate his grave? Thank you.
Thank you for this article. I am the current pastor of Johnson Chapel.

Glad to share. Do you happen to know any more history of the church?
Thank you for this article. My family also attended Johnson Chapel. It is an awesome congregation and place to worship. My mother is still an active member.
