Hall-and-Parlor Farmhouse, Jefferson County

I never get tired of finding these old houses, scattered around the landscape and holding on against the odds. This one is gone now but hung around a long time.

Brian we have been going to St George Island in the FL panhandle since 1991. When we started going there was a stretch of road between Colquit and Cuthbert where 5 old sharecropper housed stood very close to the road. Originally one appeared to be still occupied and the others were in reasonably good shape but obviously abandoned. Sadly they all eventually collapsed and for the last several years any trace that the ever existed has completely disappeared. It is sad how fast the evidence of out not too long ago history can simply disappear.
