
This house is located near the abandoned house documented in the previous post and is nearly identical in layout. It supports my assertion that this was the most popular house type in late 19th century Georgia and was so practical that many, including this one, are still in use today.

Pure country. The location seem idyllic, and the entire tableaux is quite mood-evoking. I would bet that front porch has seen a lot of family and visitors coming and going over generations, and was the perfect place to rock and sit a spell on warm summer evenings full of fireflies, dazzling the night with their flickering luminescence.
