St. George’s Anglican Church, 1987, Columbus

Exterior view of St. Georges Anglican Church featuring a triangular roof, light wooden siding, and a large red door flanked by decorative plants.

Though located in the heart of the historic district of Columbus, St. George’s Anglican dates to 1987. Its simple architecture, with Gothic influence, is well-suited to the district.

This is reminiscent of a much smaller chapel-sized church in Douglas, GA, on the right-hand side of the highway leading into downtown. I have driven by that one one many times, but not had the opportunity to go inside. This one looks to be much grander, though still relatively simple in style.
