Coverdale Handi-Mart and Supply, Turner County

While technically not a ghost town, Coverdale is a small place. It was originally known as Cloverdale, but an error by a post office official changed the name to Coverdale. Locals still know it as Cloverdale. The store has probably been around about as long as the community has been in existence and has had few owners. A post office served C(l)overdale from 1914-1922.

Coverdale, Georgia

Coverdale was originally known as Cloverdale. Ginger Bryan writes: This is the store that my cousin used to take me to when I was a little girl and went to visit. My aunt lived across the highway in Cloverdale (we still call it Cloverdale, by the way) and we would walk over here and get candy and a bottled coke. I’m happy to see that it is in such great shape. My aunt and uncle still live in Cloverdale in the same house.
