Located between Egypt and Guyton, Tusculum is one of several picturesque ghost towns in Effingham County. This circa 1904 general store seems to be all that remains of its early history.

Tuten Farmhouse, Tusculum
This is a favorite house in Effingham County. It’s a front gable Georgian Cottage, one of the rarest forms of that type. Resource surveys date it to the early 1910s, but I believe it is a bit older.
