Ann Steed’s mother married my grandfather, T. O. Paulk’s, father–making them step sister and brother. My parents, Jacquelyn Paulk Player and William H. Player were both born in Ocilla, and brought their four daughters to Ocilla for regular visits over the years. My grandparents, T. O. and Georgia Register Paulk lived next door to Arthur and Lilly Mobley on Irwin Avenue, and one street over from Ann and J.T. Steed’s house on Beech Street, so the Player Girls were always walking and riding bikes all over town! So many wonderful memories came to mind when I found your blog. (I’ve been looking for information on Eloise Little–a daughter of Dr. Tom Little in Ocilla.) Thank you so much for saving the history of Ocilla. Deborah Player
