I lived across from the water tank in the 40’s. My son and I took a black and white photo of it just before it was taken down. As children we would climb up it for fun. Ronnie Hutchinson said he climbed all the way to the top and wrapped his legs around the ball on top and leaned all the way back. I never was that brave.
A few months ago, the old water tower was dismantled. It was a sad day to see it go. It had become very unstable, so they decided to do away with it. I nearly cried when I saw the tank in pieces beside the street.

So hate to hear this, Ashley, but I’m glad I got lots of photographs of it…it was certainly a landmark in Poulan.
