Tift Theatre, 1937, Tifton

The multi-colored Carrara-glass facade make the Tift Theatre one of the most recognizable buildings in Tifton and its restoration is a real success story. It’s style is technically Art Moderne, a late variant of Art Deco. The venue is a centerpiece for the Tifton arts community and schedules for shows and events can be found here.

Why can’t you all get Dailey and Vincent in Tifton, Ga. You would not have any trouble selling ticket and the house would be full. There are so good.

I love all your photos of Tift County, I pass by most of these building everyday and take them for granted. The Tift Theater is so beautiful, I remember when I was a kid, you could get in free with 6 RC cola tops. Thank you for the memories.

Love all your pictures, Brian! We are kindred spirits of a sort. I live in Tift County. My 16 yr old daughter is a budding photographer, and we spend many, many hours cruising the back and dirt roads of this area looking for photo ops. Have seen and captured so many of the same scenes as you it is scary! Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your site and relate to the subject matter!

Thanks, Nancy! And good luck to your daughter. There’s so much new technology today, but her generation is so well-suited to grab it by the horns…would love to see some of her photos sometime.
