Directly across the highway from the offices of Bland Farms you’re likely to see these crates stacked 15-20 feet high; they look like two big buildings from a distance.
Bland Farms is the country’s largest grower, packer and shipper of sweet onions, accounting for nearly half of all Vidalia onions sold.
Thank you for all of your pictures! I was just down in Jesup this past weekend visiting my mother. On the way home, my daughter agreed to a little cemetery exploring in Tattnall and Montgomery Counties, (Surrency & Calhoun families – the Calhoun Cemetary in Montgomery was kinda tucked way back in the woods). We got to see the Bland Farms! Can’t wait to see the peach trees at the close by Oliver Orchard this summer. Beautiful countryside that I didn’t know existed until a couple of years ago when I decided to not go my usual route to Jesup and decided to make my monthly trips down an adventure in family history!
