Lyric Theatre, 1923, Waycross

Though not documented, the Lyric is thought to be the work of Valdosta architect Lloyd Greer. Some sources have listed its construction date as 1927; however, local sources date it to 1923 and until otherwise documented, I will use 1923, as well. With all the renovations going on in Waycross, I’m hopeful that the Lyric will be on that list soon. It’s seriously threatened and in very poor condition at this time.

This is so great. We moved to South Georgia in August and one of the great joys of exploring South Georgia is finding all of these little theaters sprinkled around. None seem to be as well maintained as those in Fitzgerald, Tifton, and Valdosta. Have you found any others in good shape?
