Homerville United Methodist Church, 1913

Established in 1875, the Homerville Methodists first met in the courthouse. Land for the church was donated by the railroad and through the contributions of Henry J. Peagler and others, the present structure was built. Sided with Georgia marble, it’s one of the nicest structures in Homerville.

Mabel Dame taught us in Sunday School; she had all of us kids to call her Aunt Mabel. She was a wonderful sweet lady and I will never forget her.

I went to Sunday School and church in this church. It was right down from my house. Always enjoyed Vacation Bible School. When I was in High School, I kept the church nursery.

Yes, we had some good times at this church. Vacation Bible School was always such a fun time and learned a lot about the Bible. I started keeping the nursery when I was in high school. Loved my babies!
