Hi Brian, thanks for posting these beautiful photos of my grandparents’ home. Although the Laniers lived there longer than anyone else, it was officially known as the Prescott house (or more typically, “place”). The house was built by my great-grandfather Dr. Jesse Prescott, father of Smae and Blanche who grew up there.

My dad bought the property left of Red and Smae Lanier. Used to pick up pecans for them to make money for the Halloween carnival. I remember Red raised quail there next to the barn I guess for hunts behind the house? I helped my dad update the wiring in that house when Jan and Ben Williams lived there. Yeah and I remember the Easter egg hunts there too, we would walk down the dirt road from LP elementary. Those were the days. Do you remember the Johnson’s that lived by the rr tracks? That was a nice old house.
