My niece, Alissa Wright Wilkerson, bought the old Cordele Banking Company building for back taxes a few years back. She has renovated it throughout and is looking for renters for the various offices and office spaces which she has provided. Although the building was covered with that awful yellow brickwork sometime in the 1950s (which covered up some beautiful brickwork and windows), Alissa is actively seeking to bring businesses back to the downtown district, beginning with this renovation.
Yeah it is. I remember going in there as a kid in the early 70s with my dad. Always got a free sucker. I also got to hold a $1000 bill from there once on the way home in the Dodge Dart. Haven’t thought of that in years.

Pathetic.
