My mom, Alma Garrett Baxter, was from Arlington and my dad took a teaching job in Edison. He eventually became the principal of the high school and the superintendent of Calhoun County schools.
Update: As of July 2020, this landmark is being torn down.

That was also my grandmothers house from 1963 ( not 100% sure about date) until she passed away. I thought the Lowes lives there before my grandma. Huh. It’s a very nice house though. I only wish it could be restored to its original condition. 😊

I remember the house well, along with your parents and your sister, “Colley” (sp?). Your cousin, Shannon Cook and I were both born in Dr Jimmy Martin’s clinic in Edison…Shannon on August 28 or 29, and me on Sept 1 of 1950. Just became aware of this site- and it sure brings back a lot of memories. If memory serves, “Miss” Alma and “Miss” Edna Cook were sisters. Hope you are well.
