    Hey Brian,

One individual who grew up in this Girard house was John Chandler Hickman. This may explain that comment about Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler. Cecil Hickman shared this information on the identity of of the home’s inhabitants after I shared your posting to the FB group Burke Co GA Genealogy.

so glad to hear that you are expanding! I see so many interesting old abandoned homes here in Bibb county that I really think belong on a site like this. Can’t wait to see your new pics.

Thanks, Karen! It will probably be a month or so, but I’ll be up there. I know Macon quite well and that should come in handy. If there’s anything you think of in particular, let me know and I’ll do what I can to shoot it.

I miss those rides too. When growing up, at least every other Sunday after church an fried chicken, we would pile in our 1947 Dodge and, as my daddy called it, “go to the country”.
