“Overgrown” wound up being the overriding theme of my Sunday photo ramble. Often, I spot houses in the summer which are impossible to photograph, due to the advance of weeds, privet, and other invasive plants. I often return in winter hoping for better views, but the persistence of vegetation in the South can be a difficult barrier to a good shot. This house was obviously inhabited until recently, judging by a satellite dish at the corner of the front porch (not visible).
My small company salvages old houses in Texas, and we often see houses like this that are consumed by the forests around here. Love the architecture of this old beauty.

Brian, I think that you are correct. I looked on Google Earth and found a house that looks like the one posted here. The street view is from 2008 and people were living there at the time. No overgrowth of weeds or vegetation at that time. It’s on the South side of Hwy 25 on Troy Polk Road. Geo coords are 32 31 03.43 N 81 54 01.63 W.
The satellite dish implies that there is electricity and water, I guess. Also, that the chimney still works. Must have been a nice house, at one time!
