My guess is that this front-gabled structure was a law office, dating to the late 19th century, but I have no further information. It’s a wonderful building that I hope is preserved for years to come.

My great-aunt Stella Louise Gresham Caunet and her daughter Joan and my great-aunt Pinkie Gresham Wyatt and son Cecil lived in this building around the Great Depression era. I am not certain how long they may have stayed there. The 1940 Census shows them living together in Hamilton in a rented dwelling with the same being in 1935. My grandmother (their sister) and granddaddy and both their fathers and 5 children lived nearby all together in another dwelling. I’ve never known what else the building had been used for. Aunt Pinkie was a seamstress and Aunt Louise a lunch room worker during those years.
