Jacob J. Lissner House, 1905, Brunswick

Built for Jacob J. Lissner, a successful Jewish businessman at the turn of the last century, this eclectic Craftsman was once considered the “Ugliest House on Union Street”, but apparently that wasn’t a reference to its appearance but rather a slight to its owner. Personally, it’s a favorite of mine, and is owned by the City of Brunswick, which once operated a history museum here.
