U. S. Custom House & Post Office, 1902, Brunswick

Now Brunswick’s City Hall, this municipal landmark was built under the direction of James Knox Taylor, Supervising Architect of the Department of the Treasury at the time of its construction.  It is unclear who the actual architect was.

    Love that beautiful building! I used to walk there from Glynn Academy on lunch break hoping to find a letter from my boyfriend (now husband of 60 years)…sometimes I’d sit on those steps and eat lunch while reading it if I got one…still remember our PO Box #….it was 159.
