Southern Railway Depot, McRae

This may have been built in the 1890s but I can’t find an exact date. It’s been used for storage in recent years, I believe, but appears to be in deteriorating condition. It would be a great restoration project for McRae.

  1. You were spot on, this depot is now a museum, I believe. They have an old delivery truck and a caboose plus a memorial for a railroad worker.

Love seeing old depots. My father was the agent for many years in Hawkinsville, Ga. One of his good friends was the agent in McRae.
