This house has been identified as the Samuel Randolph Dean House, but after communication with the present owner I now believe this to be incorrect; it is thought to have been built by Dean Whiteside. Andrew Green was a later owner. It is one of several historic Georgian Cottages built in Darien in the decade following the Civil War. Differing sources date the house as early as 1870 and as late as the late 1870s. It is an excellent example of the “Darien Cottage” style.

Hey Brian. Will be in that area soon. Any chance you remember the street/cross street this house was on?
It’s a block behind the courthouse. You can’t miss it.
100% Whiteside Green House. It was painted white when I was younger.
Thanks, Missy. I will update.
