This was the home of Thomas Wilson Long (15 September 1784-21 July 1861), who came to Georgia from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was the uncle of medical pioneer Crawford W. Long and is buried nearby in the New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery. I will update information on subsequent owners as I learn more. The 1854 date is probably incorrect; some have suggested 1830s is more likely.
The house is surrounded by pristine farmland on one of the most beautiful backroads in the area.

Hello , Thomas Long was my ggggrandfather. My gggrandfather was James Samuel Long…I live in England so I cannot get to Paoli..If you could possibly get there and take lots of photos of the house and share that would be wonderful… How exactly are you kin to Thomas long..BTW, I have absolutelt no idea where the Wilson comes from. He is Thomas Long on his gravestone and on every official document I have ever seen.. Best wishes..your cousin

My daughter was born in Crawford W. Long hospital in Atlanta in 1981. My OBGYN and attending physician at her birth was Crawford W. Long (III ?).
