
This began as a simple Georgian cottage and may be earlier than noted. Thomas Allison, an early Lavonia mayor and bank president, was the first owner. The Victorian posts were added in the late 19th century.

This house was purchased by my Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Chappelear around 1920. It was originally two stories. The top floor burned prior to 1920. My mother Julia Chappelear Williams inherited the house when her sister Louise died in 1968. She sold the house to Jerry Russell around 1977-78.
