This large Queen Anne has only been abandoned and its yard overgrown for a few years.

It was once a home and to see it in this condition is disheartening.

Frances W. Neal recently contacted me with some new information about this house, and potentially, history of earlier owners than the Boyd family. She wrote: I have been going through old photos that my mother and grandmother saved. I found this picture of a beautiful home in Dawson, home of Mrs. J.A. Glass…I’m not sure if my grandmother’s first husband was related to the Glass’s or not. He was Robert T. Kennedy of Dawson. My grandmother’s name was Rosa Mary Martin of Wrightsville, GA. She married Robert T Kennedy of Dawson, GA. After he died, she married Richard Furman Barker of Allendale, SC.

As with all historical detective work, this is certainly not the final word, but it’s always a delight to learn more about the old houses I photograph.

Beautiful home ive always adored it its nice to know the history i always called it my dream home ❤️
That house was built around 1870 by Judge Harrison Rogers. The sidewalks and stonewalls around it were built by my Great Grandfather Andrew Stinton. He won an award for them in an industrial fair held in Dawson. Stonewall Street that the house faces was named after the walls around the house when the streets in Dawson were named.
Would you happen to know the street address? I’d like to take some photos
It’s a block from the courthouse. Not sure of the street…
It is on the corner of Stonewall Street and Johson Street. The post office is on Stonewall Street and the house is the first house after the post office.
I would like to know if it is for sale
So sad

Such a beautiful Home. It would be wonderful if someone could fix it up. I have been enjoying these homes at Dawson very much. Thank you!
