Pine Harbor Marina, McIntosh County

I understand that the marina has been located here since at least the 1960s but considering how long there has been an active fishing community at Pine Harbor, it’s probably not the first. It’s located on the Sapelo River.

I have a old photo of this place. It was my dad’s at one time, back before I was born. My dad was Roy Moye. If anyone has any information about him or the marina I’d greatly appreciate it.

    Hello Jolee,
Might you (or anyone reading this) have any contact information for anyone associated with this marina? The phone number does not work, the email address is unanswered, the FB page has no activity in a long time, and the ownership company has been dissolved. Even someone who uses or is a member would be so helpful and greatly appreciated!

Hello Jolee, Might you have any information on how to contact anyone associated with Pine Harbor Marina? I have been unable to reach anyone, phone is disconnected. FB page in active, and ownership entity dissolved. Even a contact for anyone who is a member or uses it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert, I don’t know how I stumbled upon this page again, but I just saw your inquiry into the Pine Harbor Marina contact information. I rarely go up there anymore since we have lost use of the marina, but I have heard from neighbors that it is still under the “occupation” of Henderson Hope and only a few private members are able to use it. The owner out of Atlanta has told us that we can fish off of the dock, but Mr. Hope is not very nice about that. He was just elected as a county commissioner in McIntosh County so I would guess that his contact information is online on the government site. Good Luck!

Shown in the picture is OTIS and he ran the marina for approximately 18 years. He was kind, compassionate, loved children, loved Jesus, and spoke Gullah! My family adored him and he taught my children all about the river, how to throw a cast net, took my son on little hikes, etc. We sure miss him. Until a couple of years ago the marina was the hub of the community where we had cookouts, oyster roasts, fished, caught shrimp, had great conversation, kept our boats, and so forth. Currently the marina is not being run as a community marina and is not a welcoming place, but hopefully this will change. Pine Harbor is a very special place and hopefully the future will be bright again.
