Bailey House, 1904, Summertown

This has been tentatively identified as the Wallace Bailey House. If this is incorrect, I’ll update.

This is, indeed, the Wallace Bailey house. And, there are 2 more chimneys which each serve 2 rooms. My mother, Tera Bailey Myers, the youngest of 9 children, was born in this house in 1920.

    Hello, Brian,

I have seen several houses of this general design in smaller towns in middle & eastern GA. But the double fireplace chimneys is not a feature I remember seeing spaced like these are; more commonly they are at each end of the house. Am guessing these may feed two rooms on each side, with a main hall down the middle of the house.

    Where is Summertown? Outside Swainsboro?
