Carlyle McDonald House, 1950, Fitzgerald

This was the home of Judge Carlyle McDonald and his wife, Virginia Hough McDonald. Judge McDonald also served as Fitzgerald mayor at one time. I have great memories of lunchtime visits here with my dear friend, Ginny Chasteen, Mrs. McDonald’s granddaughter. Virginia was a consummate hostess and always made her guests feel right at home. The family donated the home to the Hospital Authority, and it is presently used as housing for health professional students.

Wonderful that the older Fitzgerald homes are getting recognition. You realize Bowen’s Mill was sold again..?
