
I photographed this store & filling station in 2017, near Calhoun*. It’s typical of the myriad franchise filling stations that were once common on roadways throughout Georgia from the 1920s through the 1950s.
*-A big thanks to Kyle for confirming the location. He also noted that the roof is deteriorating rapidly.

Look at that little wooden addition in the back. Don’t know that I’ve seen that kind of extension before. Guessing it must have been for storage.
That’s a shame to lose the roof. It looks to be Ludiwici tile, At least the roof ridge caps.
Yes, this filling station is just north of downtown Calhoun on West side of U. S. Hwy 41. The roof is deteriorating rapidly.
