This photo was made in 2010 and like many I’ve shared today, the house is probably gone by now. It’s a classic example of a shotgun house.

this place has been there for a very long time my daddy two uncles and aunt and grandparents lived in this house in the late 50s early 60s I am 29 now but I remember me daddy riddin roads lookin at deer before school and he would always tell me stories of time past. One morning we passed this old place and daddy went chuckling he told me a few things about how and when they got there but one storie stood out the most they was a big ole mean white English bulldog that roamed around out there and he would come up and fight daddy’s little dog and eat up all his food daddy said he would eat like a hog just slipping up everything quick as he could well one day he come over and did his normal deed run the little dog off and went to throatin down his scraps daddy was bout 6 years old at the time and he went to run em off well the dog rolled daddy up but didn’t hurt em to bad so he run in the house told nanny/ Susie Chaney what happened she said hold on son I’ll break him of suckin eggs she got some small russet taters baked em in the oven in a ole cast iron skillet till they was bustin hot throwed bacon grease on em took em outside she hollered for ole bulldog daddy said he rounded the corner and nanny threw down them taters he said he gobbled all 4 of em down before you could say don’t do it wasn’t but few seconds he said that ole dog started rolling round scootin cross the ground them taters was burning him up sumn serious. Might not sound like much but I cherish these ole stories my daddy was one of them that when ya met him you just knew you had met a 1 of 1 and I thank Jesus Christ to have gotten to hear these ole stories and of he’s willing I’ll get to hear some more. I was on the TELFAIR county page on here and saw the thing about bones and Mr Homer him and my daddy were very close friends family and business partners since the early 70s right on up till bout 2010 when daddy got down if anybody ne on here knows my daddy Phillip Chaney or knows some of the boones please give me a holler would love to hear from some ole kinfolk 912-331-9397 hunter
