The Holtzendorf Apartments, an unusual example of the early 20th-century “garden” or “flat” apartment in a small town, was the first apartment building in Fitzgerald. A century later, it’s still serving the same purpose.

Update (2016): This was a landmark of my childhood. We always passed it when we went to my grandmothers’ house and I was intrigued by its appearance. In my lifetime, it was always an apartment/duplex. Sadly, it was demolished in the past two or three years.
