
This is a precinct house, or courthouse as they’re sometimes called. I originally thought it was the Fountain Bridge precinct, but haven’t been able to confirm. It may have been related to the nearby Martins Crossroads community. It’s no longer in use but is a good example of the rural voting stations that were once common throughout Georgia.

I did not know this was a precinct house next to the old Hopewell Church. This is a small world here.

The old grist mill and store across the road from here was operated by my Grandfather James Rigsby. My Mother and many brothers and sisters lived here for several years.
