The original Wray’s Drugstore was catty corner across the intersection. This “new” building replaced an old wooden store building. Louise Wray, the daughter of Mr. Wray, is said to have been the first woman to earn a pharmacy degree from UGA. She ran this pharmacy until her death. During the 60’s it was a meeting place for girls and boys after school let out. You could get a cherry Coke and a hot dog at the serving counter!
