This home was built by Charles Seiler (1839-1912), a prominent German immigrant who operated the Grand Central Garden, the most popular beer establishment in its time. His great-grandson was Sonny Seiler (1933-2023), best known as the owner of the UGA mascot bulldogs and for a stand-in role in the movie of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
