Matilda Krouskoff (1862-1916) was the second wife of Prussian-born city alderman and milliner Solomon Krouskoff (1840-1916), and he gave her this house on Thomas Square as a wedding present in 1897. The neighborhood at the time was known as “Millionaire’s Row”. The house is presently home to Common Thread restaurant.
